The Deceased
Register combines
the most accurate
and immediate
information of
individuals that
have recently died,
compiled with the
full knowledge and
approval of the
General Register
Office, the Local
Government
Association and the
Office of the
Information
Commissioner.
The data for the
file is collected in
collaboration with
local Registrars
throughout the UK at
the time a death is
registered.
Data is only
captured from
Freepost forms
issued by approved
Service Providers,
thus ensuring
exceptionally high
integrity of the
data.
Deaths must normally
be registered within
5 days and in many
cases the forms are
returned to the
Deceased Register
within a week and
the data is
available for use
the following week.
With approximately
700,000 people dying
each year, it is not
safe to assume that
your data is up to
date, even if the
data has been
screened by files
that have been
compiled by less
direct methods.
Now there is no
excuse for sending
mailshots,
reminders, or making
telemarketing calls
to the deceased.
With up to date,
accurate data it is
possible to avoid
causing anguish to
relatives and as
well as saving both
embarrassment and
costs.
